As the CEO of the From Tips to Toes Mentorship Program, Alison is dedicated to guiding aspiring beauty professionals by sharing her knowledge, providing real resources, and offering the support they need to build successful and lasting careers in the industry.

Chris, a Columbus native and beauty industry entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience, opened Strand Caffe in 2009—the first Black-owned full-service beauty salon in the Short North. In 2020, she and her husband co-founded the We Elevate You Foundation to support and empower BIPOC entrepreneurs.

Inspired by her own early greying journey, she launched Slate Strands in the winter of 2024, a beauty brand focused on redefining the narrative around grey hair through education, products, tools, and extensions. ✨

Giánni Coleman is an AADP board-certified trichologist and founder of The OMGi Salon, specializing in scalp health, hair restoration support, and education-driven beauty services that protect and maintain hair integrity.

Through her work, the Crowned in Care initiative, and mentorship of emerging beauty professionals, she is committed to empowering clients and uplifting the next generation of leaders in the beauty industry.

Alexis Marie is a licensed cosmetologist with over 10 years of experience specializing in professional makeup artistry and precision hairstyling.

Known for working with celebrities and high-profile women, she’s recognized for enhancing natural beauty and creating polished, camera-ready looks that empower confidence.

Young Industry Leader & Visionary Entrepreneur

Since 19, Tahjir has been running his own barber and beauty trade show while continuing to grow behind the chair.

Now at 21, he is a full-time barber, the founder of multiple successful businesses, and focused on expanding his impact beyond just cutting hair. Everything he builds is rooted in discipline, structure, and a long-term vision for the industry.

With over 12 years in the beauty industry and 6 years as the owner of Future Couture Beauty Bar, India Woodruff has built a reputation as a stylist, mentor, and leader dedicated to excellence and growth.

Beyond the salon, she co-owns New Path Living Transitional Housing, where she is passionate about creating opportunities that help individuals rebuild their lives, restore confidence, and step into a brighter future.

Stephon Woodruff is a faith-driven barber, community leader, and entrepreneur dedicated to empowering others and building confidence.

With over 10 years as a Behavioral Specialist in special education and adults in recovery, he also co-founded New Path Living, a nonprofit helping individuals rebuild their lives and create lasting change alongside his business partner, India Woodruff.

Jasmine, also known as "Smooth Visionary Kutz," has been in the barber industry since 2023, honing and perfecting her craft.

She is the owner of SVK Essentials, which offers custom-blended, all natural beard grooming products. Jasmine is particularly well known for her expertise in providing services to neurodivergent clients.

With over 12 years as a licensed esthetician and 7 years as a salon owner, Whitney Johnson has dedicated her career to raising standards in the beauty industry.

A two-time People’s Choice Lash Tech of the Year, she now serves on the 2026 BTS Barber & Beauty Expo Executive Board, helping uphold integrity, celebrate excellence, and champion the next generation of talent shaping the future of beauty.
